Henriksen Studio was founded by Dr. Thomas Henriksen in 2019 with a desire to build a company working at the forefront of sustainable design and building, helping create a roadmap for a carbon neutral society in 2050.
Thomas has a Doctorate in Architectural Engineering from TUDelft and over 20 years specialised experience in structural and façade engineering across a range of energy efficient buildings and infrastructure projects worldwide.
Previous roles include Global Façade Leader at Mott MacDonald Ltd, Technical Director at Waagner-Biro Stahlbau AG and Technical Director at Seele Austria GmbH. He was also a Project Manager for ÍAV hf., also known as IPC (Iceland Prime Contractors), and Senior Structural Façade Engineer at Ove Arup Ltd.
He has worked on an extensive range of prestigious and complex projects throughout Europe, the UK and the Middle East. His portfolio includes projects such as Crossrail’s new Paddington station in London, England; Kirk Kapital A/S' new headquarter "Fjordenhus" in Vejle, Denmark; Maersk Panum Tower in Copenhagen, Denmark; Etihad Museum in Dubai, UAE; Glazed Link Library Walk in Manchester, England; Sowwah Galleria in Abu Dhabi, UAE; Trinity Leeds in Leeds, England; Cutty Sark in London, England; the Shard London Bridge Station, England; ARoS “Your Rainbow Panorama” in Aarhus, Denmark; Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik, Iceland; and Triangeln Station in Malmö, Sweden.
Thomas is a certified Passivhaus Designer and a member of both the Society of Façade Engineering and the Institute of Structural Engineers.
Edwin is a façade engineering and materials professional with over 20 years experience of designing and building landmark buildings, sculptures, and infrastructure projects, both as a consulting engineer and a specialist contractor.
Previous roles include Materials Engineering and R&D Director at Stage One and Façade Engineer at Ove Arup & Partners International Ltd. Notable projects include the Chanel Mobile Art Pavilion by Zaha Hadid Architects, which travelled to Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York and Paris; Al Bahr Towers in Abu Dhabi, UAE; Selfridges in Birmingham, UK; and Serpentine Gallery Pavilions in London, UK.
Morten has a vast experience in setting up, increasing efficiency, structuring and restructuring companies. He has lived and worked in several different countries, holding CEO, MD and CSO positions. Morten has been in the background, assisting Henriksen Studio at various levels since the start on matters including strategic direction, performance monitoring, communication, risk, and financial governance.
