Henriksen Studio served as experts in glass and facade engineering, entrusted with inspecting and assessing the redeveloped facade of the Grade II listed department store on Queensway, originally built in the 1800s by William Whiteley. The primary objective was to ensure that the stringent quality standards were met to transform this landmark building into 56,700 sq. m of luxury residential, retail and hotel spaces located within walking distance of Hyde Park and Notting Hill in Central London.
Designed by Foster + Partners, The Whiteley is epic in scale and proportion, with retained and restored Grade II-listed features providing the context for 139 world-class, modern residences; 20 new shops and restaurants; a cinema; a large-scale gym; and London’s flagship Six Senses hotel and spa with 110 rooms and social wellness club.
